BALLET PERTH
with Amber-Rose
Guess what?
After the shoot with Tyler and posting some
of the pictures on facebook the feedback was
absolutely overwhelming :-)
His family, friends and other ballet dancers
loved the shots so much that some of them
contacted me, asking for a photo session.
So here we are, one week later, I am walking
through Perth with beautiful dancer
Amber-Rose and her mom (my lighting
assistant :-)
looking for cool backgrounds... ....not
a difficult task in Perth :-)
Amber-Rose makes it look so effortless; I'm
totally impressed by her "acrobatic" skills...
...and she started with Ballet only 2 years
ago, that's quite amazing.
While Amber-Rose has to jump as high as
possible I prefer to stay in my favorite
pose...
...the "photographer's side-plank" :-)

Rockingham
Buddha Shack Pool Shoot
My third collaboration with bikini- &
fitness model Kayla from Kwinana.
I had enough shoots on the beach already so
for today I was looking for a pool location.
Neither Kayla nor me knew someone who has
one so I started searching online on Airbnb...
...found a beautiful place called Buddha
Shack with lovely host Phoenix. She loved
the idea of her place being used for a photo
shoot.
Thanks again Kayla, wonderful work :-)
And thanks for mum assisting us.

Yanchep
NudeArt
Another wonderful collaboration with Richrd
Plumb, one of Perth's best Fine Art Nude
photographers.
He booked a model he already knew from a
previous shoot; Volha with Russian roots was
definitely a joy to work with. Sharp rocks,
scratchy surfaces, cold wind, surfies
staring at her... ...she didn't
care and kept posing beautifully for us :-)
Thank you so much Richard and Volha for a
great day at Yanchep Beach north of Perth.
|
Tech-Talk:
We used Richard's Elinchrome Ranger set for
a couple of shots, then the light changed
and became a bit more contrasty so we
stopped using flash light. |

BALLET PERTH
with Tyler Lindsay
A dream came true today...
...having a highly trained ballet dancer in
front of my camera.
Thank you so much Tyler Lindsay for "flying"
through Perth for me.
And thanks a lot to Tyler's mom Janine for
assisting with my lighting gear.
2010 I met Janine in Natalie Amar's
boot-camp training sessions at City Beach.
Now 7 years later, Nat told me that Janine's
son has become an excellent ballet dancer
and I should do a shoot with him...
...the rest is history :-)

Blue Haven Beach, Esperance
[WA]
Extremely windy conditions but perfect with
light and clouds...
...so we had to do another shoot at the
beach :-)
This time it was BLUE HAVEN, a beautiful
place.
Natalie made it easy for me to capture
stunning material... ...with her
excellent posing skills she's best friends
with my camera sensor :-)

STONEHENGE Esperance
[WA]
The day started with a cloudy sky, even a
bit of rain, not the best conditions for our
planned shoot at the beach.
When chatting with our Airbnb host Griff, I
mentioned "Stonehenge" but knew it was
closed today...
...but then he said, he knows the owner and
might organize private access for us.
One phone call later, all was arranged, we
were allowed to shoot there in between the
bus loads of cruise-ship tourists.
How cool was that? :-)
Definitely not the typical scenery you would
expect from Esperance or a pilates shoot.
By the way, Stonehenge Esperance is an exact
replica of the original in the UK...
...only in much better condition and fewer
visitors.

Esperance
[WA]
After another 4 hours on the road we finally
arrived in legendary Esperance.
This place is famous for its exceptional
beautiful beaches with white sand...
...I have to say, it's all true.
Definitely a magical place.
Temperatures were a bit cooler than in Perth and unfortunately it
was quite cloudy the two days we've been
here. But nevertheless, we took some great
images here :-)
|
Tech-Talk:
Beautiful beaches but too windy to set up
any flash stands. No worries, natural
was great, just always had to wait for that
little gap in the clouds to let the sun
through. |

Figure in a
Landscape in Hyden [WA]
Before we continued our road trip towards
Esperance, we quickly did some shots at
Magic Lake in Hyden.
It couldn't have been more convenient, our
Airbnb cottage was just 100meters away :-)

WAVE ROCK, Hyden [WA]
After years and years only talking about it,
finally we made it to Wave Rock, it was the
first time for all of us.
Although the Wave Rock wall isn't that long
(approx. 100m), it is definitely a great
subject to include in a picture.
Our photos here might give the impression
that we are alone there...
...cannot be more far away from the truth
:-)
In between the shots we had to chase away
bus-loads of Korean tourists :-)
|
Tech-Talk:
The "Magic"-Shot in the middle was
illuminated with 1 SB-900 on a stand 5m in
front of Natalie. In post processing I took
that stand away and added more contrast &
drama. Sleeklens-Filters created my moveable
sunlight :-) |

ROADTRIP to
Wave Rock & Esperance
On the road with Nat & Lansky in the
legendary Volkswagen Beetle :-)
It's the thing I love most...
...having a vague idea where we're heading
and then see on the road what happens :-)
Crazy good backdrops pop up everywhere if
you keep looking.
We found all sorts of landscapes, saltlakes,
forests, tin protagonists and army tanks;
not always the typical props for pilates
photos :-)
Roughly after 400km we arrived in Hyden, the
location of Wave Rock.
The only restaurant there was funny, you'd
buy your food from the counter but then you
had to cook it yourself :-)

I am FOODS -
Mini Market at the MBH Wellness Studio
The "I am FOODS" company of Dean Kurlansky &
Natalie Amar is based on large variety of
healthy + organic products.
Today's Mini-Market gave people a chance for
tasting and chatting with the pro's :-)
My job was to capture the mood and the
details...
...and to drink that bloody
Apple-Cider-Vinegar :-)

Origin8 in
Fremantle
This is where it all began 8 years ago.
Here in Fremantle Anita, Richard and I had
our first photo shoot outside of Switzerland.
Who would have thought then that we keep
coming back almost every year :-)
Fremantle is THE place for all artists and
creatives. With tons of crazy amazing
backgrounds it definitely is our first
choice for colorful photo shoots.
By the way, the yellow circle lines in the
picture bottom center are real, that's how
it actually looks from The Roundhouse.
Thanks heaps to Anita & Richard of
www.Origin8.ch for a fantastic fun-day
in Cottesloe, Fremantle and South Perth.
|
Tech-Talk:
All geek stuff in use. Ambient & Flash is
normal business but colorshifting is a fine
tool to create a special look. Anita in
front of the Skyline was illuminated with a
3000 Kelvin geled flash so the ambient turns
blueish. |

Fashion /
Portrait / Bikini Photo Shoot in Rockingham
[WA]
Kayla is a young fashion & portrait model
from the Rockingham area.
I worked with her already a year ago and
obviously was very happy with the results so
I asked her again for another shoot this
year.
While shooting at the beach of Point Perron,
a nice guy with a super cool motor bike
started talking to us; he spontaneously
offered his FAT-BOY for a couple of shots...
...how cool is that? :-) of
course we accepted gladly
|
Tech-Talk:
All natural light. Sometime I would love to
use a little bit of flash light but the very
windy beaches here would make that mission a
hefty challenge :-) |

The MIND BODY HEART
WELLNESS STUDIO
I am working on the poses...
...one day I'll be able to do it as well as
Natalie :-) ha,ha, dream on
MBH, one of the best Pilates Studios in
Perth. I am here every morning for the
9.30am class and today I was also here at
4pm for exercising holding my camera :-)
Well done Nat !

ArtNude Shoot at Midgegooroo National Park
[WA]
Today I teamed up with local photographer
Richard Plumb who is a gifted artist when it
comes to NudeArt photography.
He knew a very experienced travelling model
from Melbourne being available in Perth at
the moment; so we booked her for half a day.
Richard wouldn't be Richard if he wouldn't
know the best shooting locations :-)
Midgegooroo National Park has some amazing
rock formations and almost no tourists,
perfect for our model :-)
Later on we did a couple of shots at
Swanbourne Beach where "Clothing is
Optional", so no problems there for our
model walking around naked.
It was one January's hottest days with 38°C;
so after the 4 hrs of shoot we were all
quite exhausted but very happy with the
results.
Thanks a lot Richard and Cheyanne.

Tech-Talk:
Not a single flash fired on this shoot :-)

old rule "nose to the light" |

Botanischer Garten Bern
An einem regnerischen und kalten Tag bietet
sich der Botanische Garten in Bern wunderbar
an um seine Detail- / Makrofotografie-Skills
etwas zu schärfen.
Das Gewächshaus war sogar
geheizt :-)

Fotos. Ein kleiner Reflektor oder Alufolie
in Grösse A4 wirkt wunder. |

Schwangerschaftsfotos
Zum Auftakt des Jahres 2018 ein
Schwangerschaftsfotoshooting im Studio Worb.
Ich durfte bereits ihre Hochzeit
fotografieren, nun den Babybauch und schon
bald ein Familienshooting :-)
Dieses Jahr gibt es übrigens den ersten
Schwangerschafts-Fotoshootingkurs (17. Juni
2018), also an alle interessierten
Fotografen, nicht verpassen :-)
